ANQ reviews in hospitals and clinics
ANQ uses the annual contribution from hospitals and clinics to finance all services related to its reviews. This includes review organisation, data evaluation and the reporting and publication of results. Contributions are calculated on the basis of the number of case contributions defined in the Quality Agreement in Appendices 4, 5a and 5b and inpatient admissions as recorded in the Swiss Federal Statistics Office’s hospital statistics for the year before last (2019).
Case contributions 2021 | ||
Acute care | CHF | 2.70 (excl. VAT) |
Psychiatry | CHF | 9.88 (excl. VAT) |
Rehabilitation | CHF | 11.30 (excl. VAT) |
The case contributions (flat rates at discharge) were unchanged from previous years.
The insurance providers and cantons that have signed up to the ANQ National Quality Agreement are obligated to incorporate ANQ reviews into their performance mandate and also to finance new reviews in the first two years. As no ANQ reviews were in the start phase in 2021 that would have required start-up financing, the hospitals and clinics were not subject to separate tax supplements for inpatient discharges in the reporting year.
